For many at first glance, the price of an electric kayak may seem high. The eMogi Aluki starts at £6500
Of course, it is a lot of money, we agree, but let's take a closer look together at what you get for that price and compare the price of this electric kayak with similar outboard motorized units.
eMogi Aluki kayak is a high-tech product at a top level with more than 3 years of development. It has no competition among motorized kayaks, and it is also the only motorized kayak that can be comfortably carried with a weight of 17 - 22 kg. Our electric kayak is the only one that allows you cruise down on slow rivers and ride back up stream where you started without necessity having pickup on 2 locations.
As we haven’t discovered any motorized kayak with integrated drive at the market, let's compare the price of eMogi Aluki kayak with similar outboard motorized unit. The price of one outboard motor unit, for example Torpeedo will cost you minimum over $2000.
On top of it add the price of the kayak from $400 - $3000 and whole outboard system installation and paddle, it still won’t achieve the parameters of our electric kayak in terms of weight and operation time. 🕹️Thrust controls at the paddle
Another feature is the thrust remote control paddle. This enables the user to hold a paddle the same way as a standard kayak one and navigate by dipping it in the water and simulating the rudder.
At the hand positions there are reasonable thrust buttons at the left and right side of the paddle stem. Green button for activation of the electric propulsion (3 gears) and red button for stop.
Compared to outboard propulsion kayaks that lack the paddle, we went the way to have full control over the kayak with the paddle (moving forward and navigating).
We have tested several rudder types, but always the paddle proved itself to perform the best and secures full control over the electric kayak in any situation.
Our foldable propeller
Our foldable propeller - this has been designed for our ekayak only, we focused on efficiency, simplicity and easy replacement.
The center of the propeller is made of durable nylon (not 3D print), so the replacement concerns the blades only (with cost from $5 - $30). When a user damages any other solid propeller you have to buy a new one starting at $100,- in this category.
Our eshop also offers a solid 3 blade propeller that doesn't reach the efficiency our foldable does, but can endure harsh conditions. With the solid propeller causing water repulsion when the motor is idle, our foldable one enables users to enjoy paddling without the engine with ease of classic kayak.
Foldable propeller is also beneficial for use at water bodies where there are many leaves and impurities, when stopping the motor, the propeller folds and drops the leaves away.
